Sails of Glory Anchorage Site

Sails of Glory recreates naval combat in the age of sail during the Napoleonic period. (1650-1815) SOG uses miniature ships in 1/1000 scale, movement cards representing the different movement capabilities of each ship.

Players choose their monuver cards in secret, then reveal them simultaneously. The card is placed in front of the miniature and the ship is moved too match the card movement depicted. Wind effects movements as does the size of the ship.after the movement phase broadsides billow smoke and ships receive hull damage, loss of sails and mast, and the deck runs red from deceased crew members.

Sails of Glory Anchorage is a forum based user group for SOG. There are discussions about tactics, historic aspects, ship modifications, rules, solo rules, after action reports (AAR), missions and a solo campaign.  It is a great resource and friendly group.

They are starting the 2017 campaign and I plan on participating.  For the campaign you have to provide your fleet information to the campaign organizer. You report AAR of the mission that are provided. The results of your engagement are then documented and you receive experience and fleet points based on how well you triumphed or sank. There are six nation vs nation missions and six pirate/letter of marquis missions.

In upcoming post I will introduce you to my fleet and the men that command it. I'm throwing in a good portion of back story to my fleet. Have to have a little Drama!!
